If you are an American Aftermath OG (actually when it was still called Gnartallica most likely) then you have seen that I posted a review of Black September’s self-released The Forbidden Gates Beyond here back in December. This band is killer blackened death metal with a female fronted vocalist. The album was a strong contender for my year end list in 2010 also.

The band’s stringsmen are serious shredders. Complex, melodic riffing accompanied by hammering, masterful drumming and topped with vicious vocals. It was released today that Black September has officially signed to Prosthetic Records (home to Book of Black Earth, Dew-Scented, Trap Them and Landmine Marathon) and plan to re-released The Forbidden Gates Beyond on June 6th.
