Review: IRON WITCH – “Demo 2011″

“Jailhouse” opens with a bit of feedback and a nice, chunky bass line. When the track takes off, it has a definite sludgy stoner vibe to it. There is a nice, grooving rock and roll vibe in here too. I hear a lot of influence from Cavity and even Black Cobra in this. I love this. The riffing is simple and very effective, the drumming is slow and steady and the vocals remind me a bit of Mike Williams. This is an all-around rocking good time.

“Booze Blues” opens very similar to the first track, feedback and a nice bass line. These two things never bring down a track to me. This track, again, contains very simple riffing that comes across exquisitely, punishing drumming at a slow pace and vicious vocals sitting alongside. This track has a fantastic groove to it. It’s a bit repetitive, but all in all this is fantastic. I get a nice Black Sabbath influence in this band. Sickness. [Continue Reading]

Why Did I Not Know BLOOD RED THRONE Were Putting Out A New Album?

Because I honestly had no clue. I haven’t really listened to these dudes in quite some time, but I was really into them a while back. It should be interesting to see what they have in store. With track titles like “Trapped, Terrified, Dead”, “Proliferated Unto Hemophobia” and “Graveworld” I am really interested. The album is yet to be named but is supposedly due out later this year. Bring it on.

Morning Jams: Punk Covers Mixtape

Hello. How did everyone sleep? Hopefully this morning’s playlist will help you wake up. I chose these tracks personally and it took me a bit to remember all of the tracks I wanted to use. All of these tracks are covers of older punk and hardcore bands done in each band’s own style. I hope you all enjoy this playlist.
