Aaron Deal is In DARKEST HOUR Now? Wha?

So… Did anyone else know that Darkest Hour was having a bassist issue? I sure as hell didn’t, not until Profound Lore Tweeted earlier today that Darkest Hour’s new bassist is Aaron Deal of Salome fame. I honestly had no idea any of this was going on, but I am not really surprised with the recent outbreak of bass-playing WTFs. Some are leaving, some are holding their girlfriends hostage and some are popping out of nowhere. I’m sure Aaron will do well with Darkest Hour, although the styles of Salome and Darkest Hour are quite the opposites. Interesting it is. I had to post this tonight just so I could get the readers opinions and insights. Peace out. Tune in tomorrow for Black Metal Sunday.

There Is A God: Disturbed Announces Hiatus

Today I am no longer an atheist! It seems like the blight on music known as Disturbed is going into remission and may never come back!!!!!!!

In a recent interview David Draiman had this to say about Disturbed’s foreseeable future

“There won’t be a ‘Music For A Weapon’ tour next year. We don’t know what we’re doing . . . We’re not gonna do our own thing either. This is gonna be the last tour that the American people get to see us in for awhile, if not indefinitely. We have some things going on internally, we have some personal things going on. So I don’t know. It’s hard to tell. But I can definitely tell you there won’t be a ‘Weapon’ around next year with us on it. If we end up keeping that brand [and possibly 'leasing' it out to other bands to use]… it has kind of become its own entity, it’s something we have talked about in the past, and that’s possible. But you’re not gonna see a DISTURBED tour for awhile.”

Josh’s Favorite Albums Of 2011 So Far

Yo, This is my list of albums that are currently contenders for album of the year. I know it’s too early to be doing this but it’s seems to be the cool thing to do. My list is more than likely going to change in the next six months because of the number of (hopefully) amazing albums yet to be released.  Make sure to leave comments suggesting albums I may have overlooked or shit talking my musical taste.

Lane’s Favorite Albums Of 2011 So Far

And So I Watch You From Afar-Gangs

This is the second album by the Irish instrumental rock quartet, And So I Watch You From Afar. This band combines elements of post rock, math rock, and metal into a nice unique package. There are so many memorable riffs that should be and will be ingrained into your puny mind. I have been jamming this album since the day it came out and I can’t seem to stop. If you’re into instrumental music or good music in general, check this album out ASAP.

I’m Not A Fan of PATHOLOGY, But They Keep Putting Out Killer Artwork.

Like the title says, I am not a huge fan of Pathology. The main reason is that brutal death metal for me is few and far between for me. I have certain bands that I like, and I have covered this before, so I’m not going into it again. I’m just not into them. Some of you may like them, but it’s not for me. One thing I will give Pathology is that they keep putting out pretty gnarly album artwork. Every one of their albums has artwork that is extraordinary. Some are better than others, but none are disappointing to me, personally. Check out their artwork here.

Well, Pathology have recently revealed the artwork for their new album Awaken The Suffering. The artwork was done by the world renowned artist Par Olafsson who has done work for Abysmal Dawn, Immolation, Burning The Masses, Exodus and more. The artwork, which can be seen at the top of this post, is pretty amazing. What can you expect from the great Par Olafsson, though? Pathology’s new album will see release on September 13th and they will be touring from late August through late September with Blood Red Throne and Grave. Check the dates after the jump.

Morning Jams: SAVIOURS

Good morning, class. How are we doing? I know some of you may be a bit hungover seeing as it is Saturday morning and you young kids like to drink, but I’ve got some heavy shit for you this morning. This morning, the playlist is all Saviours. I love this band and I have for a while. They are actually coming out with a new album called Death’s Procession on September 6th via Kemado Records. These guys have a very distinguished style that absolutely kills. So, get stoked for their new album by jamming out to this morning’s playlist. Enjoy.
