Album Of The Week: CONVERGE’s “Jane Doe”

So, I am just now really getting into Converge. I know what you’re thinking; “What took you so long”? I apologize for being late to the Ballou Riff Shindig.  So since I am on a Converge binge, I picked Jane Doe as Album of the Week.  Jane Doe is regarded by fans and critics alike as the band’s best effort. It is  recognized as one of the most important and influential hardcore albums of the last decade. It’s no surprise either. This record is fantastic! If you’re late to the Ballou Riff Shindig as well, RSVP by checking out Jane Doe.

Who Wouldn’t Want To Sample EVILE’s New Album? Come On!

Evile have recently posted a video on YouTube that features exactly a minute-and-a-half of each song off of their upcoming album Five Serpents Teeth. Before I had even heard the songs, I was sold on this album based on the cover art alone, which if you remember, won the contest for best snake-themed album art. I have actually heard this album almost in it’s entirety. I haven’t quite gotten through the whole thing, but I can tell you that it’s pretty fantastic. You can check out the song samples below and listen to an entire new track “Eternal Empire” here and purchase it on iTunes here. Five Serpents Teeth is due out on September 26th via Earache Records. Pre-order it here, here, or here. Peace.

Who Wants a Free DEAFHEAVEN Live Bootleg?

First off, I want to apologize for my lack of posts today. I spent a large chunk of last night laying on a table tattooed and because of that I didn’t get to read up and prepare my posts for today. For the remainder of the day I will post a few little things here and there and I will be back up to speed by tomorrow. Thanks for understanding.

Deathwish, Inc. has recently started releasing a series of live bootlegs for free download via the Deathwish store. The first in the series was Touche Amore Live At WERS and now the good people at Deathwish bring us a free Deafheaven live set recorded at the Bell Gardens, California loading dock-turned-venue, The Blacktop. I have yet to listen to it, but I am sure it will be a fun time. Download it here. Download it and then tell us all about it. Enjoy.
