Okay! The time has come again for American Aftermath’s Album Aftermath Contest! This is a pretty simple contest. To those of you with iPhones, you know that if you turn your phone sideways while in your iPod, your screen will show you the current album you are listening to and six more (three on each side). The six covers behind the main one are a bit harder to interpret, so I thought it would be fun to see who could name the most albums in the picture below. This was taken from my phone and the first three to e-mail me at GNARLYAFTERMATH@LIVE.COM and list the most album covers will win random CDs out of my box ‘o goodies. So, get to naming! E-mail me and send me the names of those albums! Contest Ends Tuesday, the 7th.
One submission per person and unfortunately I will not be able to ship outside the US. Sorry, international readers, but shipping isn’t cheap.

I listened to Landmine Marathon‘s last album Gallows quite a few times last year before I forgot about it completely. I know, I’m kicking myself for it because this record is fucking ruthless. As a fan of everything the band has done in the past, I can say that this is probably one of my favorite releases of theirs. Grace Perry is just an ungodly voice, there is no denying that.
One of my favorite tracks off of Gallows is “Beaten And Left Blind.” I love this track because it is an unstoppable force of deathgrinding madness. Landmine crew recently released a video for this track and it is… Well, lets just say it’s interesting. Check it out below and tell us what you think. Gallows is available now via Prosthetic Records.
Last August one of the most devastating split records I have heard in a while was released. That split was between America’s Masakari and Germany’s Alpinist. Both bands are destructive, crusty bands and this entire release is amazing. Masakari have made their side of the split available to download for free on their Bandcamp page, you can also download it from the widget below. Alpinist haven’t made their side available to download for free, but you can stream it here. Get on this because both of these bands are amazing. Enjoy.
Late last week a video surfaced of the drummer of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Billy Rymer, being interviewed on NBC4 about…… Taco fucking Bell. I guess this means Billy isn’t a vegan or a health nut like most of the other dudes in DEP. It’s odd to me that anyone eats Taco Bell, it’s odd to me that out of all the random people they happened to interview Rymer, and it’s even odder that they were doing a piece about late night fast food during the day. Whatever. I guess DEP can use this footage when they inevitably apply for a Taco Bell sponsorship. YO QUIERO TACO BELL!!

Lions Of Tsavo, for some reason, is a band I am constantly forgetting about. No, I don’t forget about them because they are a bad band, I just always get caught up in working on shit that the name Lions Of Tsavo just slips from my mind. I actually really like this band and I have for a long time. Their music is really hard to describe, proggy, black, -core, whatever. It’s got a killer sound, though. So if the name Lions Of Tsavo has slipped from your mind or even if you’ve never heard the band, get into this morning’s playlist. It’s sick. Enjoy.
