I have never been a fan of Veil Of Maya in the past. None of their material ever really caught my attention, but recently I found myself checking out their new album Eclipse on YouTube and I have to admit that this is pretty good material. It strays from the straight deathcore influence that was present on their older material and matures from the slightly-better music present on Id. I think Eclipse is the band’s best material to date. It’s not covered in scene goo like Id was. This album is fucking heavy, they take djent and give it balls. So yeah, for whatever genre you want to place them, deathcore, djentcore, djent, what have you, Veil Of Maya‘s Eclipse is fine with me. Check out Josh Armijo’s review of Eclipse here.
