Deathcore stalwarts Whitechapel have released a new music video for their song “I, Dementia” which comes off of the bands recently released self-titled album. I have made myself pretty clear that I am not a Whitechapel fan, save from the bands debut album The Somatic Defilement which was pretty crushing. I’m not not a fan of anything they’ve done since then. I figured some of you out there like them though, so post I shall. Enjoy.
Whitechapel is available now via Metal Blade Records.

Degression. That’s the only thing I can say about Whitechapel, they started off strong with their debut and had a sound that I felt other deathcore elements could not. Their sophomore album This is Exile was incredibly crushing and furthered atmosphere on their brutality and their subsequent album amped that up as well. This latest album(from what I’ve heard of it; two tracks) has me rather disappointed. The band is reduced to basic non-brutal elements. Sounds that mirror nu-metal.
hmmm … different, think i have to hear the album 2 or 3 times first … . but my first thougths are that they are getting more and more soft.
