I don’t know howAbigail Williams sits with the readers here at American Aftermath, but I figured some of you might be into them, so it was worth posting about. As of September 16th,Abigail Williams will, much like the person from which they took their namesake, cease to be. MetalSucks destroyed the band when they announced this news, where Axl stated he enjoyed the bands first EP for a while. I am pretty much the exact opposite. I hated everything the band did up until their latest release Becoming which came out on January 24th via Candlelight Records. I actually really, really liked that album.
So yeah, after the bands forthcoming tour, which heads out soon, they will be calling it quits. Not really sure how i feel about this, seeing as they band only recently released a record that I could tolerate. So yeah. I didn’t hate the band but I didn’t find anything to differentiate them from any other entities. They started off with a fusion of melo death/deathcore/black metal and soon became a full-on black metal machine, like JFAC, when they shed their core elements, they failed to find a spot in my musical interest.
