Sharp and subtly different from the feel of the group’s most recent album, Chaos of Forms, “Tetratogenesis” showcases significantly more groove and crushing sludge than the group’s usual thrashy, technical start-stop riffing. Utilizing a thicker sound and seemingly deeper tunings, “Tetratogenesis” combines the versatility, progressive nature, and uniqueness of Revocation’s sound with cues from Nevermore and Destroy Erase Improve-era Meshuggah.
