Isis have released a brand new video for their song “Pliable Foe”. The track originally appears on their split with the Melvins and also appears on their new rarities compilation, Temporal, along with the video. Just like all Isis videos, “Pliable Foe” is very well crafted. The video, directed by Kenneth Thomas, follows a character that seems to reincarnate after dying. Well, that’s what I can make out. So who knows if I am right? The video is full of gorgeous imagery and fits the epic track perfectly. Check it out below!
Prior to their short run of dates in Japan, Converge and Old Man Gloom are planning to devastate Australia and New Zealand in February. I would kill to be at one of these shows so I will have to live vicariously through you Australian and Japanese readers…if you even exist! Check out the scheduled dates as well as a song from each band below.
How to Destroy Angels (Nine Inch Nails, etc) will officially release their new An Omen EP on November 13th through Columbia. For those who cannot wait until next week, the band is streaming the six song effort at this location. I personally enjoy this release more than their self titled effort. The musical motifs and structures are a lot more varied and abstract this time around. Judging by some of the sounds and textures on this thing, Trent Reznor was definitely influenced by he and Atticus Ross’s work on the phenomenal The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack. Anyways stream it now you assholes.
Navene Koperweis, former Animals as Leaders drummer, is currently involved in a new experimental electronic project under the moniker Navene K. Navene will release a free digital EP entitled Human Design on November 13th under that pseudonym on the project’s official Bandcamp page. A little two minute teaser of what’s to come can be streamed below. It combines various electronic styles like IDM and dubstep into a complex, eccentric package. I don’t think it sounds that bad actually, despite the dubstep wobbles. Anyways, check out the teaser below if you so wish.
The Faceless have announced that they will invade the UK early next year with the lads in The Safety Fire. The two groups will span the UK in eleven days starting January 30th. Check out the scheduled dates and a song from each band below.
Shannon Lucas, drummer for The Black Dahlia Murder, recently went to the web to officially announce his departure from The Black Dahlia Murder. In his video statement (below) Shannon reveals he will be stepping back from his drumming duties to pursue other interests. These interests include: his project with George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher from Cannibal Corpse and Killswitch Engage’s Adam Dutkiewicz, a new project and to open a tattoo shop with his wife outside Richland, Virginia. Ex-Abigail Williams drummer Alan Cassidy will be filling in for the time being. Check out the official statement below.
As you all know by now, East of the Wall is currently in the studio tracking their follow up to The Apologist. Following the recent drum tracking video, the band has posted another short pre-production clip. This new thirty-two second snippet shows guitarist Matt Lupo laying down some pretty groovy riffs. You can check that out below if you so desire and be on the look out for more East of the Wall news.
Back in July I posted about the impending break-up of symphonic deathcore-turned-descent-black-metal band Abigail Williams and now it has been announced that not only is the band NOT breaking up, they will be releasing a new album in 2013. The band will also be embarking on a (possible) post-break-up tour. So, yeah. If you were bummed that the band called it quits, rejoice! If you were happy the band was over, sulk and whine. Either way, talk it over in the comments. Continue reading »

In the first quarter of the year I posted a lot about up-and-coming metallic hardcore act Everything Went Black who signed to Prosthetic Records late last year and released their debut LP via the label this past January. The band is extremely destructive and I have not forgotten about them, even this late in the year. The band recently released a video of them performing a new track called “Monarchs.” Other than that, no information is known as to what this track will be a part of. Check out the video after the jump and mosh in your seat. Continue reading »
I have been impatiently awaiting the release of Deftones new album Koi No Yokan. I mean, I have been anticipating this thing like the motherfucking rapture, you know? With the pure beauty and heaviness that came with Diamond Eyes, I knew the ‘Tones would not let me down. I have been a huge fan of this band for years and years and years, so I know that the band has released numerous albums with their own special flare. Diamond Eyes was something new and interesting and it fucking destroyed. Continue reading »
