And The Year Of The Split marches on. I’m here today to review two new splits. When I say “new splits,” I mean that literally. These splits were released this past Tuesday and both splits were highly anticipated by me and countless others, I’m sure.
The first split I am going to review is between Phillip H. Anselmo and Warbeast. I was really looking forward to this album because I am a huge fan of Phil and his work on all of his projects. If you are unaware of this man’s talents, come on, how can you be? But, for those of you who somehow don’t know who he is, he is the frontman of Down and guitarist for Arson Anthem. I don’t know why I didn’t put out my list of my favorite hip-hop releases of 2012. I have it on my computer but I didn’t post it for some reason. Well, one of the albums on that list was good kid, m.A.A.d. city by Compton, California’s Kendrick Lamar. good kid, m.A.A.d city was actually my #2 on my list of hip-hop releases. I love this album and it’s still in steady rotation around Aftermath HQ. My favorite track on the album is “Backseat Freestyle” and guess what track Kendrick just released a music video for?
