Last week one of the guitarist/vocalists of East Of The Wall, Matt Lupo, stepped out into the spotlight with a new solo project under the name Opul. The musician just dropped a four track, 20 minute long EP entitled, “Personnel“. Opul is not too dissimilar from East Of The Wall in its ambient guitar styling and composition, but lacks the metallic edge and harsh vocals.

The most impressive thing about this project is the instrumentation. It has tons of little nuances on guitars, drums and keys. Clearly Lupo had a vision for what he wanted to do with Opul. Overall the album is pretty good, the only thing that took me a minute to get into was he vocals (which is odd considering I dig his vocals in EOTW). You can stream the album below and name your price for the download on Opul’s Bandcamp.
