Those of you who have seen The Faceless perform in the past week or so may have noticed that their drummer, Lyle Cooper, has been MIA. This has led some on the webz to speculate about Coopers further involvement in the band. To clear up any rumors, Lyle took to his Facebook and let the world know that he is no longer a part of The Faceless. This is what he had to say –
I figured I’d clear up the air about my status with The Faceless .
“After almost five years with the band I’ve decided to part ways.
Over the last couple of years it seemed that the interests, goals and musical approach of the band was not that of my own. Also,
managerial issues became too frequent with no resolution.
These issues, I felt, made it hard for me as an individual to produce as a creative and enthusiastic member.
I’m sure that proceeding my departure, the band will have no trouble finding someone with the right mindset and talents to step in and keep the band moving forward.
Thank you to the fans and everyone who supported The Faceless throughout the years. I wish the band and its members nothing but continued success and make sure you catch them on their upcoming tours. I will still be pursuing my other musical projects so look out for new Absvrdist and Abhorrent this year. ” -Lyle Cooper
Well as you can see, Cooper will no longer be drumming for The Faceless, but he is by no means done with death metal. His other band Abhorrent (which also features the current vocalist of The Faceless) is actually better than The Faceless (IMO) and has been a part of the San Antonio death metal scene for years.
For those of you unfamiliar with his other project Abhorrent, they have yet to release an album but you can ‘like’ them on Facebook, listen to a few of their tracks on Myspace (lol) or continue to check out some rehearsal footage.
