I was just a short time ago when I discovered the California hardcore titans Hordes. I first heard about the band through CVLTNation, which is a very credible website that I constantly read. When I went from reading about them, to actually listening to Hordes, I was blown away. This band gave me tiger blood and a reason to mosh in my living room. After thoroughly enjoying and reviewed the bands latest release Abarognosis, I contacted three members of the band and conducted an interview with them. I did these separately and the other members had no idea what their bandmates were saying. Luckily for them, I didn’t ask them anything embarrassing. Check out the following interview with Hordes members Jacob, Chaz and Mark. ~R. Gnarly//Dig It or Die. [Continue...]
Good morning, class. Today I picked a very special band: ACxDC. I love this band and I have been listening to them for quite some time. ACxDC, which stands for Anti-Christ Demon Core, started in 2003, broke up on 2005, reunited in 2006 for a single show and then returned as a fully-formed powerviolence beast in 2010. So this band has been pretty on-off-on-off-on but they never lost touch with the grind, you know? ACxDC recently released their Second Coming EP which you can stream here. Now sit back and enjoy a few choice cuts from this killer, blasphemous band.

One of my all time favorite grind/powerviolence bands is ACxDC and in the past it has been a bitch to find this bands music digitally. I’ve gotten a few songs here and there, but I never could find the albums. I also couldn’t locate them in online distros (although I never checked the band’s official store before). Well, if you are like me and you love ACxDC and you are dying to have some of their tunes in a digital format, look no further!
The band has recently put up their entire first EP, He Had It Coming as well as the A Sign of Impending Doom Compilation up on their Bandcamp page. Also up on this page are two songs from the band’s forthcoming Second Coming EP! And the real kicker? All of this can be downloaded for FREE! So yeah, now not only can you get ACxDC’s music digitally, it’s fucking free! Kick the shit up and download! Check out one of my favorite albums below and LIKE ACxDC on Facebook.

Well, this seems like a pretty fucking killer tour and like always, I will not be attending it. That blows, yes, but it should be pretty phenomenal for people who happen to be in the affected areas. Deafheaven are hitting the road with support from DNF and the almighty Lake of Blood with support from ACxDC and others on select dates. Here is a quote from the press release and you can see the dates after the jump.
San Francisco’s Deafheaven has been turning heads since the release of their Deathwish debut, Roads to Judah, this past April. The album has seen rave reviews from print and online publications (“a welcome evolution of metal that crushes and inspires in equal measures” – Philadelphia Weekly, “unites shoegazers and metalheads on dark, sorrowful and chaotic ground” – Youindie.com) and the band has been seen in magazines like Decibel, Metal Hammer, Hails & Horns and many more. Most recently, Deafheaven toured across the US with KEN Mode in support of the release and played a highly coveted set at this summer’s Sound & Fury festival in California. This September, Deafheaven will tour the West Coast with their friends in Lake of Blood and DNF, and will continue to play songs off of their genre-bending full-length Roads to Judah.
