When last we left our hero, Author & Punisher had announced the release of his next album titled Women & Children. Attack Of The Terrorbird: AUTHOR & PUNISHER Release New Music Video

One-man industrialized freakdub doom project Author & Punisher, who I talked to back in March, has just released its new music video. The video is for the track “Terrorbird” which comes off of Author & Punisher‘s latest release Ursus Americanus which is available now via Seventh Rule Records. The video is a strange one and, to quote MetalSucks, kinda works as a short film. Not sure what else I can say about it, so just check out the video below. Enjoy.

Well, it is getting dangerously close to the middle of the year and you know what that means. Asshole bloggers like me start talking about their favorite albums this year so far. Well, I’m not any different from any other asshole, so here is my current favorite albums of the year so far. These are not in any particular order. Man Vs. Machine: Ten Questions With AUTHOR & PUNISHER + Song Premiere

When I first heard of Tristan Shone’s droning doom dub project Author & Punisher I was immediately blown away. The insane industrialized sound of Godflesh slowed and crushed into something new and something powerful. Not only is this drone act a great listen, but all of the instrumentation that you hear are actually machines created by Tristan himself. I recently caught up with Tristan and asked him a few questions. Check out the interview after the jump as well as an exclusive stream of Author & Punisher‘s new track “Flesh Ants!” [Continue…]

Man Vs. Machine: The Dooming Bliss Of AUTHOR & PUNISHER

When MetalSucks posted about Tristan Shone a while back I didn’t really think much of it. It wasn’t until I actually watched the video that my world was turned upside down. Tristan’s project Author & Punisher is comprised of himself and a group of machines of his own creation that spew forth the industrialized doom that comes to him.

It was recently announced that Author & Punisher has signed to Seventh Rule records, which is phenomenal. I think they will fit in very well with Seventh Rule’s diverse array of bands. The debut album from Author & Punisher will be titled Ursus Americanus and it will be released on April 24th. Get stoked. I know I am. Check out a sample of Tristan’s work below.
