Ukranian mathcore trio Doomeye have unleashed a brand new single for your streaming pleasure. The new track is titled “From the Tamed to the Reckless” and it is a insanity-laced affair. The band churn out dizzying, spiraling, complex riffs at a rapid pace and also find the time to throw in a quick, bone-crushing deathcore-esque breakdown. Fans of Ion Dissonance and Daughters, take note. Stream the track after the break along with their 2014 single, “Love & Crayons” and their cover of Daughters‘ “Nurse, Would You Please Prep the Patient For the Sexual Doctor”.
Rhode Island’s infamous noise makers Daughters subtly announced last year that they were in the process of writing. Now, the band recently posted two short, cryptic videos in which new music can be heard. The clips are a little hard to hear, but they are enough to get one excited for what’s to come. You check out the clips after the break.
After two successful reunion shows last year, it looks like Daughters are in the process of writing new material. A recent picture (as seen above) was posted on the band’s Facebook page with the caption “Day 1”. If they are indeed working on a new album, it will be the first set of new material since 2010’s self-titled affair. Be on the look out for more updates as they become available.

The release came out on Friday, which as most of you know was Record Store Day, but if you didn’t have a chance to snag yourself one, the release has made it’s way online.

Rhode Island hardcore outfit Fucking Invincible (Daughters, Dropdead, etc) have completed work on their debut full length album. The album will bear the feel-good title It’ll Get Worse Before It Gets Better and will be released through Atomic Action! sometime mid-Summer; an official date will be announced in the coming weeks. The 15-minute LP was recorded by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air in Western Massachusetts, and comes right on the heels of the band’s 7″ EP’s, Very Negative and Downtown is Dead. The band have also announced a Spring West Coast tour with Loma Prieta that will commence early next month. You can check out the dates and stream both EPs after the break.
Robotic Empire will be releasing a tribute to Nirvana’s classic album, In Utero, as their 100th release and as part of their 15th year anniversary. The album, In Utero: In Tribute, will be released digitally and on vinyl on April 19th as a part of Record Store Day. The album will feature the likes of Thursday, These Arms Are Snakes, Daughters, Young Widows and more covering one song from the album. Robotic Empire head honcho Andy Low said the following of the tribute:
It has been a privilege to introduce so many unique bands to likeminded freaks over the past 15 years. Looking back at what’s transpired almost seems unreal, and even with a shameful carbon footprint of many thousand plastic circles – I can safely say that it has been an honor to work with the artists we have, and a hearty thank you is due to all who’ve listened thus far. I genuinely hope you’ll enjoy this tribute to one of the bands who first showed me the strange side of music. Nirvana was truly one of the greats, and we’ve done our best to craft an appropriate homage to so many people’s all-time favorite band
Digital pre-orders can be purchased on iTunes now. You can view the track listing after the break.
Daughters played two reunion shows this past weekend at The Met in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and luckily some fan-filmed footage has found its way online. The following videos show the band performing the tracks “The First Supper”, “Recorded Inside a Pyramind”, “The Unattractive, Portable Head” and “The Dead Singer”. You can stream the videos after the break and be sure to pre-order their repressed self-titled LP at this location. Enjoy.
East Coast, prepare to have your socks rocked off because Loma Prieta is coming to town. The band have announced a hand full of East Coast U.S. tour dates with Fucking Invincible (Daughters, etc) with Full of Hell appearing on select dates. You would be crazy not to go to one of the following shows.
You remember that little band of miscreants, Daughters? Of course you do. Have you been wondering what those misfits have been up to you? Well, it looks like one of them is in a new band! Daughters frontman Alexis Marshall is now lending vocals to a band called Fucking Invincible. Fucking Invincible is a straight forward, punch your mother in the face hardcore that features Alexis yelling his head off over the crushing riffs. Yup, no drunken Elvis vocals here. If this entices you, stream their Very Negative EP below. It’s pretty solid.
As you know by now, back in September Hydra Head Records would be closing its doors. I was deeply saddened that my favorite label was going under because of the state the music industry is in. But according to a recent post on Hydra Head’s official blog, the label that brought you Isis, Pelican, Daughters and more may still be able to keep breathing. Introducing Hydra Health; a Hydra Head rehabilitation project. According to the post the label will still not be able to release new records BUT they will still be able to preserve their catalog with your help! The label is offering a slew of special purchasable items (with more on the way) in order to raise money for their upcoming represses. Here is the official statement:
Take a moment to look at the band name, the album title and the ridiculous artwork. When you are finished analyzing what you see, please tell me how you cannot be intrigued? It was recently brought to my attention that Baltimore based noisy aberrations Sexgender exist and need to be heard. Sexgender’s platform is all about promoting sexual freedom, gender role awareness and completely visceral, psychotic noise. Their seven track, eighteen minute debut, Transgenital, is a short but sweet little bastard of heart failure triggering noise rock.
Hurricane Sandy has been a real bitch. Lives have been lost, communities have been destroyed and to top it all off, Brooklyn’s Translator Audio and The South Sound studios have been wiped out. The studio where classic albums from Daughters, Pelican, Cave In, East of the Wall, Unsane and many others have been recorded has been destroyed. A statement regarding the event was issued by producer and co-owner Andrew Schneider:
Isis, Pelican, Daughters, Cave In, and These Arms Are Snakes are just a few of the bands that have worked under the umbrella of Hydra Head Records. This label has put out so many memorable releases (at least to me) and has always had an eye for quality, which is evident due to their amazing past and present roster. Sadly label founder and ex-Isis frontman Aaron Turner announced that the legendary Hydra Head would be closing its doors. This is official statement composed by Aaron:
