Pick-Axe Murder Party: DEVOURMENT Streaming CANNIBAL CORPSE Cover

I love when bands record cover songs as b-sides or unreleased songs… and then release them. Devourment are the latest band to perform this with a fantastic new cover of a classic death metal tune. Taking a band that they are obviously influenced by, Devourment have spewed forth a sickening rendition of Cannibal Corpse‘s “The Pick-Axe Murders.”     Continue reading

Today We Die: DEVOURMENT Streaming New Album Now

In other death metal news, the brutally pulverizing new album from Texan gore hounds Devourment is currently streaming for all of you filth mongers to hear. This album is honestly one of the meanest things I’ve heard in a long time. This album has truly solidified my liking of this band and you can all see why right now.    Continue reading

Recorded In Sewage: DEVOURMENT Posts First In-Studio Video

Hometown (Dallas,TX) slammin brutal death metal band Devourment have recently finished recording their new Relapse release “Conceived In Sewage” with Erik Rutan.  When the group headed down to Tampa, Florida, they made sure to bring a camera with them to catch-all the studio brutality.

Late last week, Devourment began posting the first in a series of in-studio videos documenting the recording process. In the first video, we see Rutan picking up the group’s guitarist and drummer and taking them to his studio. The remainder of the video is drummer Eric Park tracking several songs. Continue after the jump to witness the brutality – Continue reading

Across The Spectrum: Check Out Lyric Videos From HOLY GRAIL And DEVOURMENT

Both of these lyric videos are from albums I was highly anticipating this year: Holy Grail‘s Ride The Void and Devourment‘s Conceived In Sewage. I have Ride The Void and I can tell you that it’s fantastic. It’s a really solid record, although some people think differently. I haven’t gotten my hands on Devourment‘s new album, but as I stated in my last post about them, I didn’t like their music until I heard the teaser for their new album.  Why? Because it sounded to me that it wasn’t going to be br00tal slam. It sounded like solid death metal! Continue reading

Conceived In Sewage: DEVOURMENT Release Album Teaser

Okay, I’ve never been a fan of slamdeath. It just never really interested me. I put this as my basis of why I have never been a fan of Devourment. I mean, I’ve listened to their tunes and laughed at their song titles, it just wasn’t for me. Their music seemed too simple and kinda boring. Aaaaaand then they released the teaser for their new album Conceived In Sewage. Suddenly I’m interested.       Continue reading

Who’s On The Road and Where They Gon’ Be.

There seem to be an ass load of bands on tour nowadays. The  Acacia Strain kicked off the To Catch a Predatour with The Red Chord, the Contortionist, Terror and Gaza, Danzig’s coveted Blackest of The Black Tour (featuring Marduk, Toxic Holocaust, Possessed and Withered. Skeletonwitch are out with Landmine Marathon and Withered for The North American Skullsplitter Tour and then with Job For a Cowboy and Misery Index in December. There are so many amazing bands out on the road, it’s fucking crazy.
