According recent activity on Ben Weinman’s  (Dillinger Escape Plan) Instagram (photo below), the highly anticipated Giraffe Tongue Orchestra has entered the studio with Ross Robinson. No other release details have been released as of yet.

Giraffe Tongue Orchestra is comprised of Weinman, Brent Hinds ( Mastodon), Eric Avery (Jane’s Addiction) and Jon Theodore (ex-Mars Volta).

Ross Robinson and I single and ready to mingle. Well actually kinda busy making magic to tape.

The upcoming project featuring members of Dillinger, Mastodon, Jane’s Addiction, and The Mars Volta has apparently switched drummers. In a recent interview, Ben Weinman revealed that Giraffe Tongue Orchestra has switched drummers. They have switched ex Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen with ex Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore. Which is a shame because Pridgen is a beast of a drummer and was probably, in my opinion, The Mars Volta’s best drummer. Anyway, Weinman also said that the group had about a half of an album done. So, regardless of Pridgen’s absence, I am excited.

The Members Of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN Sure Do Like To Keep Busy

The Dillinger Escape Plan are about to embark on an awesome tour with Mastodon and Red Fang. But that is not the only thing Dillinger related to get excited for. Recent, guitarist Ben Weinman revealed on  Dillinger\’s blog that the members of the mathcore giants have other things in store for us!

Time To Get Excited For Another Supergroup!

It seems Mr. Brent Hinds has been busy lately. He’s putting out albums by Fiend Without a Face and West End Motel as well as working on new Mastodon material and now it has been announced that he is forming a supergroup with Ben Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta and Eric Avery who is ex-Jane’s Addiction. Wow. That’s one hell of a collective. This should be a beast of a project. Unfortunately, the band has yet to even come up with a name let alone premier demoed material, but still, it’s exciting. Hinds has stated “We want to record crazy stuff and Ben is working on that, but it’s been hard to get together.” and he also seems to be leaning towards the name Giraffe Tongue “because they look sick.” Interesting.
