Jeroen Paul Thesseling Clears Up Departure From OBSCURA

In an interview posted yesterday on Blabbermouth, ex-Obscura bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling cleared up his departure from the band. A few weeks ago Josh posted about Jeroen quitting Obscura due to “scheduling conflicts.” Since then, we have been curious as to who would be taking his place in Obscura and whether this would interfere with his work in Pestilence.

Well, the interview conducted by Blabbermouth with the epic bass player brought a lot of things to light about the situation such as the fact that Jeroen actually announced his departure back in April via e-mail to the band. The reasoning behind Jeroen quitting was the fact that touring wasn’t paying the bills anymore and he had been forced to take up an actual job. Total Bummer: Jeroen Paul Thesseling Quits Obscura




What a total fucking bummer! The ever so amazing bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling has officially left progressive death metal band Obscura. The reason given is scheduling conflicts that get in the way of touring. The implication being that Obscura may be looking to do more touring which would be a good thing, however its begs the question of who will be the replacement. After all, those are some mighty big shoes to fill.
