According to Kurt Ballou’s (Converge, etc) Facebook page, KEN mode have entered Kurt’s own Godcity Studios once again to work on source material for Brian McOmber’s score to Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, Ugly. I am curious to see what “source material” they are working on and how it will translate into film. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available. But for now, jam KEN mode’s song “Never Was” below.

According to a recent tweet, All Pigs Must Die will be entering Godcity Studios with Kurt Ballou to record their second full length album. No other information has been released as of yet but we will be sure to keep you in the loop. In the meantime, check out a tune by these crusty bastards below.

As previously reported, Kvelertak have been in the studio with Kurt Ballou recording their sophomore record. The band have revealed the title of that record to be Meir and will be released sometime in March of next year. The band have also revealed the album’s tracks and what looks like to be a summary of the lyrical content or title meanings or just random ramblings. You can view those below as well as their video for “Blodtørst”.

Code Orange Kids are currently streaming their Deathwish Inc. debut, Love is Love//Return to Dust, over at Brooklyn Vegan. The record doesn’t come out until the 20th but you can go ahead and get your fix of Converge inspired, blistering hardcore! It’s a pretty solid release in my opinion. Check it out and MOSH.

Norway’s Kvelertak have recently performing some new material live and luckily some fan footage has surfaced on the web. While earlier news stated that the band were set to record starting Winter, it seems from this ripping teaser that the Southern California metallic hardcore giants, Nails, have moved forward and are currently recording their sophomore effort NOW over at Godcity Studios in Salem, Massachusetts. Working again with renowned hardcore and metal producer, Kurt Ballou, Nails has a scheduled release for Abandon All Life sometime this upcoming Spring quarter. Additionally, Nails are set to embark on a short West Coast stint(with their new additional guitarist, Saba) this month with Converge, Torche, and Kvelertak before releasing a new 7″ entitled Obscene Humanity shortly after. Obscene Humanity resurrects three slamming tracks from the band’s debut album, Unsilent Death: “Confront Them,” “Lies,” and the title track, “Unsilent Death”. The mighty black and roll superstars, Kvelertak, have posted their second transmission from Kurt Ballou’s Godcity Studio. In this webisode, we see Kvelertak’s guitarist and bassist tracking their new songs, and let me say that this shit is sounding pretty dope. But why wouldn’t it, did you see all those fucking heads and cabs? God damn, I bet this album’s gonna sound amazing.
As of now, I still don’t know a fucking thing about any of the details surrounding the new album, but once I know, you guys will be the first to know.

Todd Jones‘s (ex-Terror) hardcore juggernauts, Nails, have finished writing for their forthcoming Southern Lord debut “Abandon All Life” and are currently set to enter Kurt Ballou‘s Godcity Studio in December to start the recording process. In the meantime, Southern Lord will be (re)releasing their previous album “Obscene Humanity” but as a three song 7″ in.
The 7″ in will feature the songs “Obscene Humanity“, “Confront Them” and “Lies“. These three songs were re-recorded by the band during their “Unsilent Death” sessions, but were not featured on that album for some reason. As of now, the “Obscene Humanity” seven-inch release date is still TBA, but it should hit the streets some time in October.

This young (and by “young”, I mean the members are just out of High School) Pittsburgh band has recently making a name for themselves in the hardcore world. Code Orange Kids’ catalog of EP’s and 7″ singles have provided enough quality content to get fans practically begging for a full length record. Well, beg no more peons! Deathwish Inc will release the Kurt Ballou produced Love Is Love // Return to Dust full length debut from Code Orange Kids on November 20th. To double your excitement, the band has released a track from the upcoming record which can be streamed at this location. ”Liars // Trudge”‘s initial ten seconds is a barrage of violent hardcore bursts that leads into a slow building bass laden section. Vocals are screamed in the background while swirling guitar feedback and noises slowly fade in and finally give way to a mid-tempo dirge of delicious heaviness. Basically this track is a ripper. It will definitely rattle your bones. Check it out now damn it!

Why didn’t I know Kvelertak were recording a new album??? Apparently the band is currently hold up in Kurt Ballou‘s Godcity Studio recording the follow-up to their breakout self titled album. Featured above is a short drum tracking video. The video is alright, I mean it’s your standard run of the mill in studio video. The only real bummer about the video is you don’t really get a taste of what Kvelertak are cooking up 
Anywho…Who else is super stoked for their new record and their upcoming tour with Converge???

According to a recent Facebook post, Code Orange Kids have finished tracking their first full length LP with Converge’s Kurt Ballou. This is what the band had to say:
“well. our first lp is finished. this has been one of the most amazing experiences of all our lives. thank you so much to everyone to has supported us up to this point. we know you didnt have too and we genuinely thank you so much. means more then anything else. we are really fucking proud of this thing and when it drops in a few months we will see every single one of you all over the world. to all our friends, bands, labels, promoters, everyone. thanks. see you soon as fuck for long as fuck – kids”

This is for all you gear nerds out there. Ever wonder what legendary guitarist/producer Kurt Ballou uses when he records band in his Salem, Massachusetts studio? Well wait no longer because Scion A/V has brought a camera crew down to Godcity Studios to interview the man himself about his gear.
I am not surprised by how much shit he has, but what is kind of shocking is the price tag on all that. The recorded music biz may be having a bit of trouble financially, but jesus fuck, that fools must have hella Converge bank.
