Footage has surfaced on the web of The Body and Thou covering Nine Inch Nails during their set at Gilead Fest in Oshkosh, Wisconsin last month. The band closed their set with a doom-laden, noisy rendition of the classic NIN track “Terrible Lie”. You can check out the performance after the break.
Footage of Retox performing a new song has made its way online. The new, spastic track is apparently titled “This Should Hurt a Little Bit” and will be apart of the new 7″ split between the band and Narrows (Botch, etc), which is due out later this year via ThreeOneG. You can check out the performance after the break.
It looks as if Clutch have been trying out some new material during their UK/Ireland tour. Fan filmed footage captured the band performing a new song entitled “Sidewinder” during their show at The Liquid Room in Edinburgh earlier this month. You can check out the performance after the break.
The band is reportedly working on their 11th full length album. No word yet on when to expect it.
One of my favorite record labels in hardcore and metal music today is Deathwish Inc. (home of Deafheaven, Converge, Code Orange Kids, Modern Life Is War, Punch and many more). And over the past few days they’ve been teasing and counting down to a major announcement of some kind. None of us knew what it was, many assumed it could be an album release of some sort but the label dropped no hints until the announcement came today in the form of the picture you see above you.
Fan-filmed footage captured Animals as Leaders performing a new song this past Friday, January 31st, in Brisbane, Australia. The track sounds pretty solid from what I can discern. You can watch the performance after the break.
Animals as Leaders’ third full length album has been given a tentative March release date through Sumerian Records. No official details have been released just yet. The band will be embarking on an album release tour with After the Burial, Chon, and Navene K later this month. You can view the tour dates after the break as well.
Shortly after the announcement of the equally wicked Mastodon/Gojira/Kvelertak tour earlier today, the best death metal band to ever come out of New Zealand Ulcerate are finally coming back to the states to play a large handful of dates leading up to their appearance at this year’s Maryland Deathfest. This band is one of my favorites and I’ve been waiting years to see them so I will for sure be at the very first date in Los Angeles. Find out the full batch of dates after the jump.
Young Widows recently debuted their forthcoming fourth full length, Easy Pain, live on January 26th (St. Vitus, Brooklyn) and 28th (Boot & Saddle, Philadelphia). The St. Vitus show was captured by Frank Huang of Pit Full of Shit for your listening/viewing enjoyment. Easy Pain has no official release date yet, but you can get a feel for the album after the break.
The Fall of Troy recently completed their trio of reunion shows in Austin, TX late last month in which each night they played one of their first three full length albums. Fan-filmed footage has captured full performances of their self titled and Doppelganger albums as well as a special VIP set. It’s only a matter of time before the Manipulator show shows up online as well. You can check out the footage after the break.
Footage of Every Time I Die performing a new song during their show at The Roxy in Los Angeles, CA this past Tuesday, December 3rd, has surfaced online. The song bears the title “Thirst” and from what I can gather from the video, it rips. The song only lasts a little over a minute before the band lead right into playing “A Wild, Shameless Plain”. You can check out the video after the break.
The band is reportedly writing their seventh studio album.
Fan-filmed footage captured Chelsea Wolfe and Russian Circles performing their track “Memorial” together at their show in Prague this past Saturday during their current European tour. You can watch the video below but be sure to have a shoulder to cry on afterward.
Chelsea Wolfe’s Pain is Beauty is available now and Russian Circle’s Memorial will be available on October 29th.
Fan filmed footage captured the instrumental metal titans Pelican performing a new song at this past weekend’s Maryland Death Fest in Baltimore, MD. The audio quality of the following video isn’t the best but it is good enough for you to get the gist of this sludgy, brooding beast. The band plan on entering the studio next month to begin tracking their fifth studio album, which they plan to have hit store shelves this Fall. Check out the performance after the jump.
East of the Wall debuted some new songs on the road last month and luckily fan-filmed footage has surfaced on the web. Below you will find footage of the band performing two new songs during their respective shows in New York and New Jersey in April. The band plan to enter Trax East on May 27th to record their new full length Redaction Artifacts. Translation Loss should have the record out in late October.
According to a recent interview, Norma Jean frontman Cory Brandan reveals that the band have pretty ambitious plans this year. Other than the new full length they are working on now, Norma Jean are planning to write and record another full length live in one week and write and record an EP in 24 hours and film the process. This is what the interview revealed about the upcoming efforts:
According to Consequence of Sound, Sigur Ros have been performing new material live recently. These new songs are being referred to as “Kveikur”, “Yfirborð”, and “Hrafntinna” and footage of each of these tracks can be viewed below. These songs will be featured on the follow upa lbum to Valtari that is due out later this year. This will be the first record not to feature multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson, who left the band earlier this year. Check out the live footage and their upcoming tour schedule below.
It looks like Intronaut have been jamming some new songs from their upcoming album, Habitual Levitations, live recently. Fan filmed footage from their shows in Austin, TX and Pensacola, FL captured the band performing songs “Sore Sight for Eyes”, “The Welding” and “Steps”. These songs sound really solid and hopefully hint at an equally solid album. Check out the footage below and pick up Habitual Levitations on March 19th.
