Brisbane, Australia’s own Portal are celebrating Halloween in their own special way by surprisingly dropping a music video from a cut off their new album Vexovoid. It’s just as frightening as you think it is.
Richmond, VA hardcore outfit Naysayer have released a video for the track “Infiltrator” off of their 2011 debut LP, Laid To Rest. Despite the track’s oldness, it’s good to see that the group is not dead. Hopefully, their on and off tour schedule and here and there updates signal imminent material. Peep the David Wood(Down To Nothing, Terror) directed video below which includes live shot and behind the scenes footage from the group’s 2012 European tour with Terror and Brutality Will Prevail.
Los Angeles, CA’s unique metallic hardcore hybrid, Twitching Tongues, are back with the Joel Perkins-helmed video debut of “In Love There Is No Law”. With a sharper metallic edge and a greater sense of progressive control, “In Love There Is No Law” bodes well as the first strike off of the group’s long-awaited, August expected sophomore LP of the same name and arrives now as a limited to 500 7″ Picture Disc single with exclusive B-Side, able to be ordered as a stand-alone, as a limited shirt package or digitally via iTunes. Stream the video for “In Love There Is No Law” below and order the 7″ Single via Closed Casket Activities here. Also, be sure to catch Twitching Tongues on their upcoming European tour with Harm’s Way later this month, dates also below. A live shot video of another new Twitching Tongues track entitled “World War V” is also included after the jump.
After nearly two years of silence, Harm’s Way have debuted a video for a new track entitled “Mind Control”, off of their upcoming EP, Blinded. Directed by Max Moore Films, “Mind Control” provides a cryptic visual counterpart to a devastating new slice of the group’s menacing signature brand of metallic hardcore. Stream the video for “Mind Control” below and pre-order Blinded in Vinyl or CD format via Deathwish Inc. here. Check out an interview I recently did with guitarist Bo Lueders here, where we go into some of the background behind Blinded, touring in Europe and more. Continue reading
LA hardcore veterans Terror have recently debuted the video for the title track of their upcoming LP, Live By The Code. The song as usual is standard solid Terror output: riff-heavy, mosh-worthy hardcore laced with metallic tendencies while the video is a live-shot black and white scenario full of stage dives, gang vocals, and cool slow motion moments. Live By The Code comes out April 9th via Victory Records and Reaper Records(you should pick up Turnstile’s upcoming EP, Step 2 Rhythm too!). Peep the video below. Continue reading
HOAX (aka the scary hardcore band with multiple self-titled EPs and the singer likes to hit himself in the head with microphones) have recently debuted a video for the track “Fantasy” off of their third and most recent self-titled EP out now on Painkiller Records. The Cali-Dewitt directed and beautifully-shot “Fantasy” is ripe with uncomfortable bondage imagery, people sucking on shoes, abstract dance and the beautiful streets of Los Angeles, California which is all further boasted by the paranoid, buzz-tone, and d-beat-like riffplay of the song itself. Anyhow, watch the abstract video below and decide for yourself. Continue reading
Metallic hardcore group, Twitching Tongues, have just released a video for the song “Preacher Man” off of their latest EP of the same name. Shot entirely in black and white, the beautifully lighted video for “Preacher Man” is basically a well shot performance video with some cool effects and occasional allusions to the theme of the song. A song which according to an interview with John Hoffman/Caution of Weekend Nachos(in his zine Spilled Blood) is about how the mother of brother members Colin and Taylor left their father for a priest. Stream the awesome video below, pick up the EP from Closed Casket Activities here and be sure to catch Twitching Tongues on their upcoming and officially weirdest tour with Veil of Maya, The Acacia Strain, Upon A Burning Body and Volumes(dates below). Also, Keith At Chain. Continue reading
