Back in January, The Black Dahlia Murder announced their new album Everblack. I think from that point on, all Black Dahlia fans have been on their toes awaiting new material from the band. I know I have been anxious about the subject myself. Well, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that the band has unleashed their first single from Everblack, titled “Into The Everblack.” Continue reading »
According to the reliable bros over at Metalsucks, former drummer of The Black Dahlia Murder, Shannon Lucas, is currently working on putting together a new grind project featuring Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder) on vocals and Shane Embury (Napalm Death) on bass. Less notably the group features former Wartorn guitarist, Adam Faris. The group was originally conceived by Lucas prior to joining TBDM, but was put on the side line due to the groups busy schedule.
Apparently the guitar parts have been finished for quite some time and the band is just waiting for Embury to lay down some bass riffs before the ball really gets rolling. As of now, the group remains nameless but will be entering the studio in April to record vocals and drums for their first release. We will keep you updated as info is released.

I have been a huge The Black Dahlia Murder fan for a looooong time now and I was thoroughly impressed with their last album Ritual although I couldn’t fully take it in until well after it’s release. I started thinking not too long ago, it’s about time for a new The Black Dahlia Murder album. Well fuck me running, the band has already started tracking! Lo and fucking behold,
their they’re on top of their shit. Continue reading »

Hour of Penance have premiered a brand new track at Decibel Magazine from their upcoming album, Sedition (March 27th). The song is called “Decimate the Ancestry of the Only God” and it is a furiously unrelenting death metal power house full of thunderous blast beats and gargantuan sized riffs. Check it out and peep their upcoming tour dates with Skeletonwitch, Nile, and The Black Dahlia Murder.
The Black Dahlia Murder have released a new music video for the first single off of their most recent record Ritual which was released last year on Metal Blade Records. The video for “Moonlight Equilibrium” is an interesting one. It switches between the band playing live and members of the band partaking in a sexy 18th century smut party. Oh yeah, there is a werewolf. Check out the video below and be sure to pick up Ritual now.

Gaza is one of the most vile and powerful heavy bands that has ever graced my ears. If you are unaware of Gaza’s existence, shame on you! Their last album, He Is Never Coming Back was met with critical acclaim from music critics and heavy music fans alike. I recently got a hold of drummer, Casey Hansen to answer some questions about Gaza’s upcoming album, their past work, and others.
I recently attend The Summer Slaughter Tour in Dallas, TX and was lucky enough to score some time with Shannon Lucas and Ryan Knight of The Black Dahlia Murder. They discuss the bands new album Ritual out now on Metalblade, Shannon’s work with Corpse Grinder and Adam D, as well as some of his favorite grindcore bands. Watch the interview above and continue below the jump to view some HD footage of the band performing “A Shrine To Madness” and “Everything Went Black”.

Good morning all. Yesterday was not a very impressive Black Metal Sunday, it was one of the slowest in a while. Hopefully today will be much better. Let’s start the day off with some choice cuts of bands covering the almighty Carcass. The godfathers of goregrind have a large following. How about we see how well these bands cover their tracks. Enjoy.

Not too long ago, we here at American Aftermath acquired a very skilled photographer by the name of Maclyn Bean. Maclyn is very gifted at what he does and what he does is get fantastic shots of bands in a live setting. Check out the gallery below to see the photos that Maclyn got from the Summer Slaughter Tour on August 13rd. This gallery contains photos of The Black Dahlia Murder. Check ‘em out and enjoy. All photographic credit goes to Maclyn Bean Photography. [Continue...]
Detroit’s melo-death masterminds The Black Dahlia Murder are smashing faces currently as a part of the Summer Slaughter tour. Well, if you live in a city where Summer Slaughter did not come through, don’t fret because The Dahlia will be hitting up other cities later this fall with support from All Shall Perish and Cannabis Corpse! Their plan is to get to some cities that Summer Slaughter didn’t, which is pretty cool. Unfortunately for me, like Summer Slaughter this tour is not coming anywhere near me. Which sucks, but I’m used to it. The tour kicks off on October 6th in Columbus, Ohio and wraps up on Halloween in Lansing, Michigan. Cool beans. Check out the flyer and dates after the jump. Get your face-melting on.

In a recent interview with Lithium Magazine, Adam D of Killswitch Engage is starting a project with Corpsegrinder and Shannon Lucas of TBDM. When asked about the project, Adam described it as a “death metal side project”. I am not a big fan of either of these bands personally, but it does sound like it would be an interesting listen.

I took the liberty of posting a song from each band. Just because I can

Ahoy! How are you all feeling this morning? Terrible, I hope. Oh, I kid. Let’s see what all we talked about yesterday. We downloaded a live Masakari set, watched YOB perform their new song live, we got excited for new Wolves In The Throne Room, we learned that AOL is streaming the new Lock Up album and checked out a new Periphery track that they performed live. Nice. Well, today we have even more blogging to do, so let’s get this started!
Today’s playlist is dedicated to The Black Dahlia Murder and their new album Ritual, which has been in constant rotation in my record player since I picked up the 12”. It is truly epic. Ritual came out a few weeks ago on Metal Blade. Pick it up. It rules.
